Hike, Wine & Dine

Hike, Wine & Dine is going virtual this year! Due to the pandemic, we have created a fun way to continue to celebrate this wonderful event….from a distance. Join us for a Virtual Hike, Wine & Dine wherever you might be.

Your registration is 100% tax deductible. Every dollar will go to support the operating expenses of Jack’s Place and Shaw Cancer Center.

Both Shaw Cancer Center and Jack’s Place have remained open through the pandemic, treating patients and providing accommodations throughout the coronavirus lockdown. Now as much as ever before, the operations of both Shaw Cancer Center and Jack’s Place are vital and we urge you to continue to share your support. New this year, some funds will be used to keep Jack’s Place open during the winter weekends.

Join our Strava Club and track your progress on Strava - longest hiker and most elevation gain will win a gift certificate from one of our restaurant partners. If you are hiking locally, pick one of Jack’s favorite trails.

Join our Facebook event and post a selfie and tag us at the trailhead along with the Hike, Wine & Dine yellow ribbon and you’ll be entered to win a gift certificate. If you are not in the Vail area, you can still participate – pick a trail in your area and post your photos in this event!

Hike, Wine & Dine 2019

About Jack Eck, MD

This year's event will honor the caring house's namesake Dr. Jack Eck, who is retiring from Vail Health Foundation in December. Dr. Jack Eck has been a cornerstone in the Vail Valley. He started practicing medicine here in 1971, and was the first physician to serve on the Vail Ski Patrol. After successfully overcoming prostate cancer, he began working at Vail Health in 2007, and was integral in the creation of Shaw Cancer Center. Jack’s Place, a cancer caring house named in his honor, serves as a haven of tranquility and well-being for patients undergoing cancer treatment at Shaw Cancer Center.

The only thing more beautiful is the cause. All proceeds benefit Jack’s Place and Shaw Cancer Center –services of Vail Health, a nonprofit 501(c)(3).
